When the people of the US are demanding that the Mexican people in the US ASSIMULATE
is this part of what they want people to assimulate toward?
I blatantly stole this article from the MSNBC site to make a point as I set here, overweight, drinking my black coffee and preparing to take my dogs on their morning beach jaunt.
I would rather be stuffing myself with hot chocolate and and a nice gooey donut..
but I have a little self control.
Not much..but when I realize that there are people out there who will actually mess their pants to be thin.. it makes me wonder if it would be worth it to even try for a US lifestyle??
Sounds pretty damn messy to me!
The same results could possibly be created by eating a ten pound bag of prunes....

And besides...if I am a little chunky..so what ??
The overlooked me for the Miss America Title when I was young and sexy! They said I didn't have enough money or social standing.
Sure won't happen now.

Question???
Why don't that hold Miss Intelligence or Personality Pageants ?
Or is the only things in life actually money and sex ?

Sometimes, you can’t stop your weight-loss secrets from leaking out.Dieters have been flocking to drugstores to pick up Alli, the first over-the-counter weight-loss pill to be approved by the Food and Drug Administration, despite the scary warning: Stray too far from your low-fat diet and you just might poop your pants. The drug’s maker, GlaxoSmithKline, has been up front about the pill’s side effects, suggesting that first timers wear dark pants or bring a change of clothes to work until they get used to the diet pill’s potentially yucky consequences.Still, it seems there’s no shortage of people willing to risk public humiliation to shed a few pounds.
At one Los Angeles-area Walgreens, pharmacist Susie Uyu’s seen customer after customer march directly
through the store toward the prominent Alli display.
“I think they’re excited that it’s an over-the-counter product,” Uyu says. And even though pharmacist Miyuki Anderson, who works at a Bartell Drugs in Seattle, warns everyone who eyes the Alli display about the messy side effects, it doesn’t stop most of them from buying the diet pill. (Anderson does, however, arm them with this helpful tip: “I tell the patients, try when you have a day off.”)“We know it’s selling very well — better than we expected,” says Brian Jones, a GlaxoSmithKline spokesman. Jones declined to share any specific numbers. “But we don’t know if it’s going to last — there was a lot of pent-up anticipation.”Anyone can try it
That anticipation refers to the origin of Alli; it’s the newly approved over-the-counter form of the prescription weight-loss drug Xenical. Now that it’s available in many major drugstores and grocery chains, it’s not just for the obese with a doctor’s prescription in hand — anyone who wants to lose a few can try it. “The pill offers the promise of convenience, that someone has done the job for you,” says Adam Drewnowski, director of the Center for Public Health Nutrition at the University of Washington in Seattle. “People who don't live well, who stuff themselves with bags of snacks, in desperation they reach out for a pill.”The drugmaker states very clearly that it’s no miracle drug, and only promises to help people toward moderate weight loss. For example, if someone were to lose 10 pounds from dieting, they’d lose 15 by combining their diet with Alli. The diet pill works by blocking 25 percent of fat from being digested. Alli users take one pill with every meal, and to avoid an “Alli oops,” they should eat less than 42 grams of fat a day, or about 15 grams per meal. But those fat grams can be sneaky. One grande Starbucks Caramel Frappuccino contains 15 grams of fat, and if an Alli user adds even a low-fat muffin to that meal, it could get icky. “It’s so important to understand that you must adopt a low-fat, healthy lifestyle,” Jones says. “We call them treatment effects — that’s a signal for you that you’re not staying in the guidelines. What Alli will not do is make up for not living a healthy lifestyle.”Cheaters share cautionary tales
But we don’t always like to bother with directions. Those who haven’t completely followed instructions offer cautionary tales on the drug company’s Web site. “(I)’ve pooped my pants 3 times today, and sorry to get descriptive but it even leaked onto the couch at one point!”
writes one user. It can strike any time — even in the early hours of the morning. One user writes: “(Y)a know how when you start moving around in the morning ya pass a little gas. Well, I did and then went into the bathroom and to my horror I had an orange river of grease running down my leg.”Fellow cheaters advise each other on the best clean-up methods, and some even suggest using panty liners or Depends. One frugal user noted, “I’m thinking that infant diapers might be a cheaper way to go, just use them as a large pad.”The gross side effects might scare away the less-committed, but some experts appreciate Alli’s very real, very immediate consequences of cheating on your diet. “It forces you to eat a lower-fat diet — if you don’t, you’re violently penalized for not doing so,” says David Sarwer, the director of clinical services at the Center for Weight Loss and Eating Disorders at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. “When they eat a little too much fat, they’ll learn not to do it again.”The drugmaker claims Alli is promoting healthier lifestyles by teaching users that weight loss involves eating healthy food and getting enough exercise — and Sarwer agrees. “People who are struggling with their weight assume that thin people never think about what they eat,” Sarwer says.
“I’ve always been impressed by patients who really rolled with the punches with some of these events. They say, ‘Well, I learned that I couldn’t do that. It taught me to eat differently.’ And that’s where I think Alli can be
the greatest benefit.”Side effects are avoidable
Some Alli enthusiasts have been conscientious enough to avoid any side effects. Carole McMahan, who’s trying to lose 10 pounds, started taking Alli the day the product hit drugstore shelves on June 15, and has been careful to follow the low-fat diet. “No pun intended, but I’m very anal about it,” says McMahan, who’s 44 and lives in Greensboro, N.C. She appreciates the way Alli holds her accountable to her eating habits.“I started very cautiously, and I’ve just grown more and more comfortable with it,” McMahan says. “I just follow the diet. I knew I couldn’t go out and order hot fudge cake.” But some Alli fans, like 25-year-old Rachelle Beaini, are just asking for it. Beaini, who lives in Henderson, Nev., and wants to lose 20 pounds, has lost 6 pounds in two weeks without a single side effect. Inspired by her success, last week she dared to eat a meal of chicken nuggets — while wearing white pants. (Still no unpleasant consequences, she swears.)Still, as some obesity experts point out, if you’ve made a change in your eating habits, why is a diet pill necessary? Drewnowski, the Seattle public-health researcher, says that hearing “Alli oops” stories frustrates him.

“I think it's utterly revolting, frankly,” Drewnowski says. “It controls your life — you focus on it all day. It’s like walking around with a colostomy bag.”Instead of investing money in a diet pill, he encourages people to take the money they would’ve spent on Alli and put it toward buying healthier food. (A 20-day supply of Alli costs about $45 to $55.)“See how much money you are spending on food daily,” Drewnowski says. “Factor in the extra amount for this drug and spend the entire amount on better food. You'll be happier and better nourished — and not obese.”He adds, “I can't think that a healthy lifestyle requires carrying a spare pair of underpants.”

As far as I know, this is not happening in Nayarit, but I really need to check out other parts of Mexico.
I know that there is a lot of sweatshops in Mexico City and Puebla.
One of the girls who worked for me and lived in my house talked about working in an undergarment factory in Mexico City.
She was very underpaid, overworked,verbally abused and ultimately fired for refusing the sexual advances of her supervisor.
She was a 12 year old abandoned child of a prostitute.

The American businessman was at the pier of a small coastal Mexican village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked.
Inside the small boat were several large yellow fin tuna.
The American complimented the Mexican on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took to catch them.
The Mexican replied only a little while.
The American then asked why didn't he stay out longer and catch more fish?
The Mexican said he had enough to support his family's immediate needs.
The American then asked, "But what do you do with the rest of your time?"
The Mexican fisherman said, "I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, take siesta with my wife, Maria, stroll into the village each evening where I sip wine and play guitar with my amigos, I have a full and busy life, senior."
The American scoffed, "I am a Harvard MBA and could help you. You should spend more time fishing and with the proceeds, buy a bigger boat with the proceeds from the bigger boat you could buy several boats, eventually you would have a fleet of fishing boats. Instead of selling your catch to a middleman you would sell directly to the processor, eventually opening your own cannery.
You would control the product, processing and distribution.
You would need to leave this small coastal fishing village and move to Mexico City, then LA and eventually NYC where you will run your expanding enterprise.
The Mexican fisherman asked, "But senior, how long will this all take?"
To which the American replied, "15-20 years."
"But what then, senior?"
The American laughed and said that's the best part. "When the time is right you would announce an IPO and sell your company stock to the public and become very rich, you would make millions."
"Millions, senior? Then what?"
The American said, "Then you would retire. Move to a small coastal fishing village where you would sleep late, fish a little, play with your kids, take siesta with your wife, stroll to the village in the evenings where you could sip wine and play your guitar with your amigos."
The fisherman, still smiling, looked up and said, "Isn't that what I'm doing right now?"

I live here by the sea and most of my friends are either oyster divers or fisherman.
They stand together looking at the sea when the water is to rough to go for their catch.
This can sometimes involve a week or more without the ability to make money.
But..they do not complain and the smiles never leave their faces.
They do not talk about World Trade and the Stock Market.
I doubt that they would understand if someone mentioned these things.
Some of the things that they do know is comradeship,love and helping each other.
Why do people who have already messed up their lives by attaching so much importance to the almighty dollar want these people to change?

I am setting here trying to get my caffeine and nicotine level up to par and thinking about the difference in gringo and Mexican culture.
I had a big mess..as everyone does..moving from one house to another.
Probably more than some because I am crazy and an artist who collects crap like rusty metal objects like old hinges, hasps,etc.
This collection..now that I have the space..will go into a square or a neat piece of driftwood.
My whole patio at this moment looks like a nuclear explosion.
I threw my back out early in the game bringing my heavy Gateway PC over here.
I also took some heavy objects up into my loft bedroom.
The move was only about 1 1/2 blocks in distance but my junk collecting made it many trips.
I also have a small fridge,double bed with a wood frame,and a closet.
Twice during this mess, gringo "friends" came over.
Neither one of them offered to lend any type of assistance.
Between fishermen,oyster divers and three guys who are working at building a house here, I have all of my junk in the new house.
I gave two of the young men a total of 140 pesos for their help..and they took that under protest.
I bought some of the others some beer and then they bought more beer that I had to help them drink.
The guys did this between diving for oysters and some spending hours in the ocean to catch fish so they can support their families.
There was no moaning and groaning about being tired.
Just good natured harassing each other about who could carry the most.
I get so tired of listening to gringos with the comments about Mexicans being thieves.
I stayed over here and told them to just bring the stuff over..my back hurt to bad to deal with it.
I had nothing stolen or broken.
Both my gringo "friends" have cars.
My Mexican FRIENDS hand carried everything over.
Interesting..why do I live inside the Mexican community?

This should be pretty self explanatory if you have just read the above.
We live within a system where charity and government help organizations do not exist nor are they that necessary.
People help people..governments govern and churches teach the word of God.

The US has taken the necessity of people helping other people away and at the same time have destroyed the feeling of community.

Is this what they want for the new Mexican immigrants?

Personally..I hope it never happens.

Look carefully at the meaning of assimulate....
Do you want to be assimulated ?
Do you want to resemble others or would you prefer to keep your individuality?
Do you want to be a counterfeit of others or another culture?

If I hear that word one more time, I think I may lose my cookies.
The word is irritating and I heard it about 25 times in the course of conversations among US and Canadian citizens, who live here in Nayarit and most are property owners.

One of the main persons who threw this word around, all to freely, is a 74 year old woman who has lived here in Mexico for many years.
She is a homeowner and I had to order her household gas this month because she could not communicate in Spanish.

I am constantly called upon to solve communication problems from people who have lived here for a large number of years, interact socially within the group of expates only, eat only non-Mexican food and listen to their music.

They know nothing about Mexican history or culture and invent their version as they go along.

They are forming their own neighborhoods, absorbing the downtown restaurants in San Blas and many other areas of Nayarit...but Mexican people in the US need to abandon their beliefs, lifestyles,music and language to make the US happy..

Why do these foreigners not have to assimulate into the Mexican culture?
I know why..because Mexican people are individuals who have no interest in forcing others to fit into a mold.

Assimulation is a belief of Nazis and Communists.
Assimulations, along with drug addiction is a means of controlling the masses.

Take away the powers of free thinking....create a robot society and you have CONTROL..

Program the children in the schools.
Create group counseling for every problem.
Grief therapy when a teacher or playmate dies.
Family counseling
Marriage counseling

All of these items take away the responsibility of handling the problems within the family unit.

In Mexico, when someone dies, we all set by the deceased for a decent period of time, hug each other, shed our tears,ask what we can do for the loved ones left behind and then we bury the deceased and go on with life.

It is called strength within the family and the community.
Can the foreigners who come here to live assimulate into this...NO!

When a neighbor dies...they do not participate in the grief.
When a person is sick...they do not come to offer a hand.

Why..because they do not try...nor want to assimulate to this culture.

Foreigner on Mexican soil act like they are owners of this land and while the US has the belief that Mexico is trying to regain the stolen land by sheer numbers, we here see that foreigners in Mexico are trying to absorb Mexico by the force of their dollars.

Before the US cries that Mexicans are sending the dollars out, they should check on what the New Caciques have invested here in Mexico.

What?? No more ice cream jingles?
I am SHOCKED and DISGUSTED !
I grew up waiting for the ice cream man and so did my children.
Good Grief..That is almost like killing Snoopy or violently pulling a child's security blankey away.
I am having withdrawal symptoms just reading this.
When the 3 or 4 different ice cream trucks come by my house in the afternoon, I plan to run out and kiss the drivers.
Might even buy all of the ice cream in the truck and throw it into the air for the kids to catch.

In Sacramento you have to use your inside voice on a thrill ride called the Screamer.

Man..Where is the fun in riding a roller coaster or other wild ride if you can't scream?
I'm not sure that the control involved might not cause some serious psychological side effects and then you can sue the amusement company.

And in Murpheesboro, Tenn., the city council implemented a body odor ban on its workers. Forget your deodorant and you could be breaking the law.
"If it's an odor that is offensive to those around them, and if there are complaints," a member of city council said, "then that is the test."
But that was not enough of an argument to convince the workers the ban would affect.
One worker said, "If you work, you're going to perspire, you're going to smell."

Are the workers now going to be able to use the excuse that they can not do ha physical labor because they will violate the BOBO (Ban on Body Odor) ?
I would..This would cause me to set down on my astrick and refuse to work.
If they fired me, I would sue them because I was simply in compliance with BOBO.
And if the boss has a gas attack over this...BOBO him/her.

This will be banned next.

It's Coming Fast!

With more and more schools and local governments telling people what they can't do these days, some say America has become a nation of bans.

"Bans are the easy shorthand way for people to deal with problems or ideas they don't like, or actions they think are too dangerous for folks," said Kevin Keenan of the ACLU. "And too often, it slips quickly into the absurd."

There was the case of graduation caps decorated in honor of the United States Army that collided with a school weapons ban. Two fifth graders in California were forced to take weapons off of the mortar boards they had decorated for their graduation.
"I had to use scissors and just cut my Army man off right there in front of everybody," said Cole McNamara, 11, "and I had to step aside before graduation."
The principal told the students that if they wanted to graduate alongside their fifth grade class, they had to cut the guns off their toy soldiers.
"I put gauze around the stubs and I colored them red so it looked they were wounded," McNamara said.
"There was a lack of reasonableness and a lack of common sense," said Glen Nakata, the father of Austin Nakata, one of the boys asked to alter his graduation cap.
McNamara's mother, Christine, said the boys were denied their personal expression.
"It's an extreme interpretation of what they are calling a zero tolerance policy," she said.

Take a look at a Mexican classroom.
This is normal !
I have have been a teacher here for more than 25 years.
In order to control the kids, we would have to remove everything from the classrooms and then truss them up tightly.
Gun control is a minor issue here, but why is it, with all this control that is being instituted in the US, there is more violence in the school.
Gee...Could it be that all of this over control is psychological damaging?

What Right Does the US Have ?

Is it just me or is the US drastically overstepping it's bounds when the start prosecuting persons for crimes committed on foreign soil that have no bearing on the United States?

I am not defending Mr. Bianchi, but it does not seem to me that this is a crime relevant to the security of the US nor was it committed while he was a member of a military force.

These are crimes, if they are considered crimes in the particular areas where they were committed, that should be under the jurisdiction of that particular country or region.

Is this another example of the US setting itself up as the watchdog of the world or just another novel way of wasting more money of the US taxpayers ?

PHILADELPHIA— A wealthy motel owner was convicted Friday of traveling to eastern Europe to sexually assault impoverished boys in exchange for money and gifts. Anthony Mark Bianchi, 44, of North Wildwood, N.J., was found guilty of virtually all the charges he faced in federal court. Bianchi was convicted of having sex with or attempting to have sex with four boys on foreign soil, including in the isolated Moldovan village of Trebujeni, in exchange for money, food, liquor, trips and gifts. During the three-week trial, most of which was heard through translators, several Moldovan boys testified that Bianchi assaulted them in small boarding houses where he stayed during his trips. Mark Geragos, the high-profile lawyer representing Bianchi, said his client enjoyed traveling to offbeat destinations and had no ulterior motives for giving the boys gifts. He said prosecutors had insufficient evidence to support their allegations. He also told jurors that young witnesses gave conflicting statements or were "lying through their teeth" on the stand.

Black Widow Spider Found In Grapes Bought At Local Wal-Mart

BEAVER COUNTY, Pa. -- A Beaver County man got a creepy surprise after he bought grapes at a local Wal-Mart.Glenn Davis said what looks like a black widow spider came crawling out of the grapes while he was washing them.Davis said he bought the grapes at the Chippewa Wal-Mart.Davis said it won't stop him from buying grapes again.A Wal-Mart spokesperson issued the following statement:“Food safety is always a top priority at Wal-Mart. Although we have not been provided with a receipt which includes useful information around the purchase of the grapes, we are thoroughly investigating this issue to assure that the products sold in our stores are safe.”

This is getting more than stupid.

Nursing Moms Deserve Our Cheers, Not Jeers

DEAR ABBY: I was frustrated by the lack of empathy that "Rachel in Philadelphia" (May 23) seemed to have for nursing mothers. She's the writer who asked if a nursing mother was "right or wrong" to expose her breasts to visitors in her home.

As a new mom myself, I say the guests should have been more sensitive. Women who cover themselves with a blanket while nursing in public are practiced and experienced. If you've never nursed, you have no idea how hard it is to get your shirt and bra out of the way, get your baby positioned and latched on properly, all while your hungry baby is squirming and fussing.

When it became apparent to Rachel that the infant was hungry, she could have offered to leave the room temporarily or held a blanket in front of the mother until the baby was positioned and latched on.

Learning to nurse takes patience and persistence. New moms are tired, frazzled, and in physical discomfort from recently giving birth. We need support, not judgment, from friends and family. -- ANOTHER NEW MOM

DEAR ABBY: When I first breast-fed my son, I discovered that the process is not easy. And I, too, sometimes "flashed" visitors in my first attempts to get the hang of it. It's hard to be discreet during the first week or so. Afterward, however, I became proficient, and my husband was wonderful at providing a burp cloth or another item to help shield me when we were out in public.

Please tell Rachel to rest assured. In time, most nursing moms become so adept at the process that most people don't even realize they're breast-feeding. -- PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

DEAR ABBY: While you are correct that nursing can be done discreetly, it is troubling that our society views breasts as purely sexual objects that should be concealed, instead of as the source of the best nutrition available to one's precious child.

In addition, infants who are breast-fed get sick less, so they don't have to go to the doctor as often as those who are not. DEAR ABBY: After I had my baby, my doctor came into my hospital room and asked if I was planning on nursing my baby. I said I was. He could see my roommate was listening to our conversation, so he asked her if she, too, was planning on nursing. She said no! My doctor, who was known for his frankness, said: "What do you think those breasts are for, sweaters? Nursing is the best way to go! The milk is always warm, and it comes in cute containers!" World 'losing fight against Aids'

Dr Fauci says there must be greater effort to boost prevention

US President George W Bush's top adviser on HIV/Aids has said the world is losing the battle against the virus. Dr Anthony Fauci told a conference in Sydney that progress had been made, but more people were being infected with HIV than were being treated. "For every one person that you put in therapy, six new people get infected. So we're losing that game, the numbers game," he said. Dr Fauci was speaking at a gathering of the world's leading HIV/Aids experts. Three years ago, fewer than 300,000 people in the developing world had access to the anti-retroviral drugs that help treat the deadly virus. Last year, the figure had risen to 2.2 million, but new infections continue to outpace the global effort to treat and educate patients. "Although we are making major improvements in the access to drugs, clearly prevention must be addressed in a very forceful way," said Dr Fauci, the director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. But in many parts of the developing world, effective prevention strategies like condoms and sterile syringes are available to less than 15% of the population. "The proven prevention modalities are not accessible to any substantial proportion of the people who need them," Dr Fauci said. Declaration plan Dr Fauci's warning was echoed by Dr Brian Gazzard, chairman of the British HIV Association, who said that while advances were being made in extending access to anti-retroviral drugs, the disease was running out of control in parts of Asia and Africa. "The HIV epidemic is essentially uncontrolled, uncontrolled in Africa, uncontrolled completely in Asia right now," he said. Only a quarter of the people needing treatment were receiving it, meaning the other three-quarters would continue to spread the epidemic, which was still in its exponential growth stage, Dr Gazzard said. The Australian conference's 5,000 delegates are drawn from more than 130 countries. Participants at the forum are being urged to sign a declaration, aimed at boosting HIV research, which proposes that HIV programmes should devote at least 10% of spending on research. The so-called Sydney Declaration's central message is that governments need to dedicate more resources to HIV research if the world is to effectively combat the Aids pandemic. The document says this will help speed up the implementation of new drugs and technologies to prevent, diagnose and treat an infection which has already killed 25 million people.

After reading this information, it makes me wonder just where are the heads, no pun intended, of our illustrious and supposedly well educated politicians when I read this Jay Leno's comment .

How can we educate the public on the dangers of Aids when political figures, who are defiantly in full view of the media, whether they like it or not, are engaged in this type of stupidity and perversity.
And what is really sad about this is that the cheap bastard was only offering $20.00.
That police officer had a good bust on some fool who had throughly insulted him.
I'll bet he tightened those cuffs down hard before he threw him in the back of the car.
If not..he should have.
Sometimes police brutality can have a reason.

It is listed one several sites as a scam that can cost you money and possibly receive a nice jail sentence.
Many of these online jobs are involved in money laundering, forgery, and other illegal activities.
Requests that you reship packages could end you up with the FBI, CIA, DEA and other government agencies surrounding your home and helicopters in the sky alerting the who neighborhood to illegal activities you were not even aware of.
This packages that you are innocently remailing, can and probably do, contain drugs or stole merchandise, just to mention a few.
I personally think it would be pretty embarrassing to be on the next edition of COPS because I did something that STUPID!
